Surgical methods of therapy, i.e. hair transplantation, have been attempted for some time. After the application of a local anesthetic, special holes are made in the patient’s skull, then so-called micrografts are implanted, each containing one or two hair follicles from the back of the head. After stitching the scars remain under the hair. Such treatment rarely brings satisfaction. Apart from the pain following the operation, and the danger of infection which always exists where surgical procedures are involved, an incompetently executed operation can lead to serious problems. Often the direction of drilling is incorrect, and it is this which determines the direction of each individual hair. Moreover, drilling such holes can harm adjacent existing hair follicles. The regular rows of hair also look artificial, while increasing the amount of hair by a single implant gives the hair a brush-like look. Excessively dense implantation can cause local ischaemia, and then the implants will not be able to grow in the skin, while visible scars appear.

At the same time the scars at the back of the head rule out a short hairstyle. At a minimum the procedure requires the transplantation of hundreds or even thousands of hair follicles, while the patient often does not have sufficiently thick hair available. In any case, following these marathon sessions involving up to 3000 transplantations, some of the hairs might not take, leaving scars and bright spots of baldness. Bearing in mind that baldness is a continuing process, and the transplanted hairs remain even when the neighboring ones fall out, the final result may turn out to be the opposite of what was intended.

If you have had such treatment before and you would like to make your hair thicker, the Micro-Derme method offered by the Handsome Men Clinic will enable you to do this.

PLEASE NOTE!!!
The Handsome Men Clinic does not carry out transplantation,
but we can thicken the hair after such operations.
